My Tia’s Place was born from lived experience, compassion, and a deep understanding of what it means to face housing insecurity while trying to pursue an education. Our founder, Carole (Pictured above on the left), once navigated college as a mother without a stable place to call home. She knows firsthand the overwhelming fear and pressure that come with trying to succeed academically while wondering where you'll sleep at night.
As she shared her journey, we realized she wasn’t alone; far too many students in our community are quietly battling homelessness or unstable housing situations. These students are driven, bright, and full of potential, but without community support for students, their futures are placed at risk.
That’s why My Tia’s Place was created: to be a safe haven. More than just a roof, we provide warmth, respect, and resources. We are committed to providing housing insecurity support so that no student has to choose between education and survival. Our mission is to uplift young people by offering clean, secure, and nurturing transitional housing solutions, a place where they can focus on their goals and breathe again.
Our team is entirely women-led and powered by passion, lived experience, and a shared belief in community support for students. At My Tia’s Place, we don't just offer shelter; we provide hope, dignity, and support. creating a path forward for those in need.
